DominickWalenczak

I play a few different trombones, in groups large and small. Mostly, I just enjoy making music with other people.

About

A bit about me.

I'm a bass trombonist based in Western New York. I've had the opportunity to play with orchestras in Rome, Italy, as well as community orchestras closer to home in Amherst and Cheektowaga.

My experience ranges from large ensembles and orchestras to small chamber groups and choirs. I like the variety—and I especially enjoy the chance to make music with different people.

While bass trombone is a particular favorite, I also play:

Soprano trombone Tenor trombone Bass trombone Contrabass trombone

A soft spot for the low brass

The low end.

The tuba plays in the low register. The bass trombone weaponizes it.

A little tongue-in-cheek, but there's something to it. The bass trombone can blend into a section, add weight and color, or—when the music calls for it—deliver a proper musical gut punch.
